Business Development Representative (Remote – U.S.-based)

About the Position:

Working closely with the Marketing and Corporate Development teams, the Business Development Representative holds a key and unique position to bring in prospects at the top of the funnel with corporations serving large employee populations.  You will give potential customers their first impression of Cricket Media, presenting each customer with an exceptional experience when qualifying them for our offerings and determining the customer’s next steps with the Cricket Media team.




  • Be a Cricket Media evangelist by showing a solid understanding of our products and use cases, and articulating your message in simple and effective business terms
  • Make outbound calls and outreach to senior executives in target corporations
  • Identify new business opportunities through multiple channels to develop and manage a lead pipeline by connecting with prospects and introducing them to Cricket Media, then maintaining those established relationships
  • Qualify all corporate program leads based upon lead qualification criteria definitions
  • Coordinate with operations, marketing, product, and technology teams on program delivery and implementation of and reporting on corporate partnerships.
  • Work with VP of Business Development to move qualified leads through the sales process
  • Provide weekly status reports as requested to VP of Business Development and members of management team
  • Stay up-to-date on industry and job-related trends and standard methodologies, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.



  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a sales or business development role preferred
  • Self-starter with a proven track record to influence and persuade
  • Eye for business where you can navigate a variety of B2B organizations, their structures, and workflows
  • Ability to work as primary contact with partner companies at the most senior levels.
  • Outcome-driven and collaborative team player
  • Excellent organizational skills, technologically proficient
  • Ed tech and/or education media experience preferred.
  • Exposure to Salesforce CRM or comparable CRM tool
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills.
  • Good business analytics skills.
  • Familiarity with employee lifestyle benefits programs (knowledge, interest and understanding of world language learning, K-12 education, eLearning, volunteerism, and publishing preferred)
  • High comfort level working in dynamic, matrixed organization.
  • Occasional travel may be required
