The Digital Asset Management Coordinator will be based in downtown Chicago, IL, or McLean, VA.  Must have ability to update and maintain metadata in Cricket Media’s Digital Asset Library as it serves the education, publishing, sales, licensing, and technology teams.  The ideal candidate is an independent, flexible, hard-working, self-starter, with excellent oral and written communication skills and a deep appreciation for the variety of ways learners seek knowledge.


The Digital Asset Management Coordinator will help maintain and promote our global Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution system; will be instrumental in metadata creation and consistency; will be responsible for understanding, sharing, and enforcing best practices with internal resources who perform physical file uploads and add metadata to the system; will work closely with content creation teams to ensure that all assets/source files are submitted to the DAM team with accurate metadata and using a common global process; will also work closely with the Director, Digital Asset Management Services, for escalation issues or when key decisions about system functionality and/or global policies or processes must be created or modified.


Status:  Full-time, salaried, 40 hours per week, benefits eligible

Required: BA and prior experience with DAM systems; 1+ years of proven success in DAM-related work. Preferred: MLS in Library Science or advanced technical degree with concentration in Digital Asset Management.


Editor of Education Products

Location:  McLean, VA / Metro D.C. area


Cricket Media is looking for an Editor of Education Products who will engage with the editorial and education teams during the production of new magazine content to ensure educational value and serve as the strategic and creative lead on content development for our digital learning products. This editor is a content creator who will be responsible for generating new content, rewriting and editing existing copy, and liaising with our publishing team on content quality, streamlining and efficiency.  This is a demanding and intellectually stimulating position and necessitates a strong belief in enabling children to be self-directed learners. Responsibilities include representing our educational content in webinars, demos, and sales presentations. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of digital education market (including familiarity with major products, distributors, institutions); strong knowledge of educational standards; strong background in STE(A)M; an appreciation for literature and effective writing; and must be dedicated to making an impact. You will thrive in this position if you are a creative, proactive team player who functions well in a fast-paced, small group environment.


Required:  BA degree; STEM expertise; 5+ years of proven success in developing content across physical and digital products, including writing curriculum, teacher guides and writing to/editing to Lexile levels; experience with children’s media and educational media strongly preferred; knowledge of K–12 learning standards and pedagogical principles; broad knowledge of children’s literature; excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

The Assistant Editor will proof digital content for publication, verifying accuracy of text and narration for children’s digital reading products. Other duties include posting calls for submissions, reviewing submissions, proofing pages, and assisting with online writing forums. Our creative team is small, tight-knit, and closely collaborative. We’re looking for someone ready to give and receive constructive, creative feedback and join us in shaping the voice and vision of our unique, award-winning magazines for children. Cricket Media’s aesthetic aspirations are sky-high, and the ideal candidate will be smart and industrious with a publishing background and a commitment to children’s intellectual growth and development.


Required:  BA required; minimum 2 years of experience in editing and writing; respect for kids’ intelligence, experiences, and passion; strong, creative writing background; voracious appetite for reading; knowledge of (or at least fondness for) children’s literature or readiness to familiarize oneself with that world; proficiency in a variety of technologies for work and communications, particularly Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

Production Management Coordinator

 The Production Management Coordinator (PMC) will work closely with the Director of Editorial, the Program Management Office, and the creative teams by maintaining production schedules of all print and digital projects. This includes coordination for content subject selection and scheduling based on input from multiple distribution channels. The PMC understands fast-paced, overlapping production schedules and can work with creative teams for maximum efficiency; is passionate about collecting and defining requirements, creating and managing schedules, developing detailed plans, assigning tasks, managing expectations, and having the ultimate responsibility to ensure projects are delivered “on time and in scope”; proactively assesses risks and works aggressively to remove roadblocks in the development process, pulling in appropriate internal and external resources as needed, while ensuring all stakeholders are continually updated as to a project’s status; closely monitors resource utilization across the organization, looking for opportunities to continuously improve the throughput (velocity) of project delivery.  The ideal candidate will be smart and industrious with a publishing background and the ability to understand multiple workflows.

BECOME A NeuABC TUTOR, a Powerful Online Platform—with Macmillan Content!  JOIN THE TEAM!  CRICKET MEDIA is seeking experienced and enthusiastic U.S.-based ESL/EFL teachers as tutors for a new online EFL tutoring service designed to help Chinese primary students learn English through a 1:1 match with native English speakers.


As remote tutors, successful candidates will teach online EFL lessons as independent contractors working from home.  Tutors typically work at least 7 hours per week, usually in the early morning or evening hours, based on client volume and needs.  The children, ages 5–12, will be excited to practice English with their tutors in an engaging, interactive 1:1 online setting.
