ePals Media Science Magazine Titles	Alignment with Next Generation Science Standards Dimensions	Titles’ Alignment with K-12 Framework
Odyssey (Ages 10+)	Dimension 1: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6,1.7, 1.8 Dimension 2: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 Dimension 3: PS.1, PS.2, PS.3, PS.4	Odyssey magazine promotes the “Practices” dimension by stimulating scientific inquiry and illustrating connections between scientific fields and everyday life. It aligns with the “Concepts” dimension with articles that explore cause and effect, systems and system models, energy and matter, structure and function, and stability and change. The “Core Ideas” are presented in single-themed issues that examine topics from the four disciplinary areas.
Muse (Ages 9-14+)	Dimension 1: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 Dimension 2: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 Dimension 3: PS.1, PS.2, PS.3, PS.4	Muse magazine presents articles that engage students in the “Practices” dimension by inviting students to ask questions, plan and carry out investigations, analyze and interpret data, construct explanations, and obtain, evaluate, and communicate information. The “Concepts” dimension is evidenced by stories and articles that allow students to explore the recurring concepts of patterns, cause and effect, energy and matter, and structure and function. Among the “Core Ideas,” Muse issues have examined all four of the disciplinary areas.
Ask (Ages 6-9)	Dimension 1: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8 Dimension 2: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 Dimension 3: PS.1, PS.2, PS.3, PS.4	Ask, “the magazine for curious kids,” actively engages children in the practices used by scientists and engineers (Dimension 1). This award-winning publication excels at introducing students to many of the crosscutting concepts in Dimension 2 and supports the concepts with photos, illustrations, and cartoons. Virtually every one of the core ideas from Dimension 3 have been treated in single-theme issues.
